PRAY for IZABELLE!!!

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY NIECE IZZY WHO IS BACK IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS WITH HER HEART AND NOW POSSIBLY HER LIVER.

A little over a year ago Izabelle was born with a hole in her heart and some other heart issues and though she's been in and out of the hospital with surgeries and other procedures she is not getting better she is getting worse.

Two days ago my friend Trish called and asked if I could take her son for a few days while they are in the pediatric ICU with Izzy who was vomiting blood and couldn't breathe on her own, Izzy now has a tube for breathing, a central line and has had at least 1 blood transfusion from the blood loss and the continuing blood she is losing.

The last update I got was a few hours ago and she isn't getting any better. The doctors are thinking that her liver is the problem now.

I am so scared but trying to keep positive for everyone involved and am and will continue to pray for Izzy's health recovery and for her family.

Trish and Mike I know this all so very difficult with the birth of your brand new daughter Kassiddy just a week ago tomorrow and now having to have Izzy back in the hospital...I feel so bad for you and I just want to cry with you and hold you and tell you that everything will be fine soon.

I can not be with you at the hospital as I am caring for your son who misses you all but is doing just fine here with us, especially William who LOVES having Durke here to play with. I will continue to care for Durke as long as you need me to.

Please try to keep positive and stay strong for each other and the rest of the family.

I love you, my family loves you and we will continue to pray for you.

In our hearts and prayers,
God Bless,

Kristi & Family

UPDATE (June 4th,2010): As of yesterday afternoon Izzy had another transfusion the other night, now she is still in PICU, still on the breathing ventilator, still heavily sedated and her spleen and liver are swollen, liver biopsy was taken and the full results will be in by next week Wed. so I'll keep you posted. Had a really high fever yesterday morning so they are trying to get that down. Right now Izzy's mom says she is stable but not 'out of the woods' yet, so PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR HER?!?!

UPDATE (June 9th,2010): I talked to Trisha the other day and Izzy is finally starting to get better!!! Her spleen and liver are still swollen but not causing any more problems than before and still are waiting for the full results, we do know that it's not psorosis of the liver which is what they were leaning towards, that's good news. The other good news is that they moved her from PICU to a regular room on the peds. floor. She is no longer on the breathing ventilator, she is however going through withdraws from the heavy sedatives she was on but that's being treated and she's getting better. There is NO more internal bleeding, still waiting to find the cause of that, the doctors are thinking maybe a problem with the blood flow between the liver and the esophagus...I'll keep you posted when I find out for sure. They are able to bottle feed her again instead of using the feeding tube and Trish can finally hold her baby girl which the doctors would not let her do while she was covered from head to toe in tubes and wires and especially with the breathing ventilator. So far all seems like it's getting better and hopefully our lil girl should be able to come home soon.

(UPDATE JUNE 18, 2010)
Izabelle is finally home from the hospital. All we know is that the liver is swollen (NO IDEA WHY) and because of that there is a problem with the blood flow between the liver and the esophagus which is what was causing ALL the bleeding.

Now they ran and continue to run a battery of tests to find the cause for the swollen liver but they let Trish take Izzy home so she can be comfortable and also be with her family, which Trish really needed because she has a 2 1/2 yr old son and a brand new baby girl who's not even a month old yet.

Izzy has heart surgery scheduled for next month to fix the whole in her heart and hopefully they'll know by then what's going on exactly with the liver so they can fix that as well.

But so far Izzy is home and I saw her yesterday and she is as smily and giggly as ever, you couldn't even tell she just spent a couple weeks in PICU. She is an amazing little girl. Very strong too.
