Tween Princesses

So I have a 12 year old daughter, my oldest and she is going through all sorts of changes. Now that she's in middle school she has so many more friends than she has ever had and I think that is awesome except the fact that the whole peer pressure thing is coming in to play...I mean it's 'Can I have money to go to the mall? I have to have name brand clothes...all my friends are going, all my friends are wearing this stuff'...ugh it gives me a headache. Then on top of all this it's the mouth. Nikki knows all and she's right, mom and dad are always wrong and what not...it's irritating. But with the bad comes the good. I get to hang out and spend some time with her on her good days,LOL and we have a blast. Shopping, movies, just hanging out.



Earlier this month my daughter got to go shopping at the mall with her best friend Kaylynn and the two were such goof balls but they had such a blast. I decided out of all the pics that were taken that day that this one of the two girls together trying on different hats was my favorite and had to scrap it. Luckily for me I already had the one kit, well actually two kits that would be great to use to put this page together. They are 'So Cute' and 'Crazy Day' both by Chriscrap.

I thought that these two QPs were both perfect for the pictures I took of my niece Izzy at our first cookout of the season this past weekend. I just LOVE the yellow sun dress that she was wearing. It was so funny watching Izzy in the grass, it was the first time she's ever sat in the green stuff and she did NOT like it at all,LOL, she started crying shortly after theses pics were taken, glad I got the shots when I did!!

Speaking of Izzy, she is going to be a big sister very soon. Her momma, my BFF Trish, was induced at 7am this morning. I am anxiously waiting the call of the birth of the new baby. I'll keep y'all posted...this will be Trish and Mike's 3rd baby, Izzy has an older brother, Durke, he's so cute too. I was going to go sit at the hospital with Trish all day today while my children were at school, however, Billy's last day of preschool was yesterday and this afternoon is his graduation ceremony so I've been busy getting all the house work done early this a.m. and afternoon before we leave. More on the ceremony later, and yes some pics/LOs too.

New family portrait (2010)

So I just wanted to share our new family portrait. Yeppers the whole family: Me (Kristi), Shaun (husband), and all six of our children; Nicole (12), Alexandra (9), Connor (8), Cheyanna (6), William (4) and Ethan (4). Now I have to go find a scrap kit to scrap this memory with.

Finally...

Ok so do you remember that mega collaboration kit I showed back in April of this year that I got from Digital-Crea? Well it's called Twinnie and there ended up being 8 different parts to that collab!! I am bringing it up because I FINALLY finished a LO using that kit. Yeppers I sure did and there it is.

The whole family (2008)

This is a page I created using a paper pack by Three Paper Peonies called 'Spooked'.
This was the 2nd family photo we had taken, the first was never put on a page because the photographer did a crappy job and I don't like how the photo turned out.
The photo on this page is all messed up looking because it's before I knew how to re-size photos in PSP w/o ruining the resolution and what not, so the new family photo that we had taken in March of 2010, will look much better on a LO.
But I wanted to show the whole family, which is, Me (Kristi), my husband Shaun, our 6 kids Nicole, Alexandra, William, Connor, Cheyanna and Ethan.

New Layout finished

I had so much fun creating my first LO using the collaboration kit 'Play' that I just had to create another layout. This is what I came up with.
I remember taking the kids to this park on this day, it was a nice warm sunny day and we were all bored, Shaun was at work and we had cabin fever so we went for a long walk to the park, it was awesome though because all the kids had such a blast walking and playing together and we even got ice cream from the ice cream truck. This is one of the first trips I took the kids to the park by myself where I had to walk with all 6 of them alone. It's just so great to know how close me and the kids are to each other, I didn't have that 'closeness' with my mom or siblings growing up. I love all you guys so very much, don't you ever forget it!!!

Another new layout

Here is another LO that I recently created, actually this was the first LO I created using my new Paint Shop Pro X2, and I must confess I LOVE that program and it's my new fave to create with. Anyways back to the page, the kit used is called 'Play' and it's a collaboration by DeCrow Designs and Sahlin Studio and it was purchased at Scrap Matters.com. The photo is my baby boy, my son, William a.k.a. Billy a.k.a. trouble a.k.a. oh never mind I could go on forever with all the nick names he has. I had to scrap this pic though because the smile in this photo is the absolute BEST I simple adore this photograph, it's one of my all time faves!! That's my Billums though, he's a very happy child. *See there's another nick name,LOL*

New Oscraps Challenge LO

Here is the page I created for the Oscraps color challenge for the month of may. We were given a specific color palette to use on our layout and I chose to use the kit 'Tweet' from the Oscraps store, it was an Oscraps designers collaboration.

LO of the day

I used the collab kit 'Morning News' by Mag Designs and Bellisae to make this LO of my step son Connor. Although he's a very happy child he doesn't smile much in photos, so when I catch a photo of him smiling, I had better get it scrapped on a page quick!! LOL

New LOs...Delicate Flower

So have you heard of Twelve by Twelve Designs yet?? She has some awesome kits available on here blog for download. This kit I got as a gift just for using one of her other kits (see post from April) and posting to a gallery. I just wanted to share a couple LO's I recently put together using this awesome kit where at first I thought it was mainly a girly kit, but I was able to use it to scrap a LO of one of my 4 year old sons.

Scrap Stash

So I have been purging a lot of my stash lately, simply because I have/had way too much stuff on my hard drive and my puter's been bonkers lately. So I went through my entire stash, don't even ask how many gigs cuz it's way too many,LoL...anywho, I found some oldies on here that I have had and just never scrapped so I decided to try to use some of them up before getting rid of em to make room for the new stuff I've gotten and/or am getting when I get my new puter, yes my hubby says I need my own puter because we simply can't share anymore..too much stuff, not enough space,LOL.

Creative Technique

Ok so for May's Creative Technique Challenge over at Oscraps we had to change the background on an image. The above image is the before and after images I used to scrap the LO below. I used the kit 'Sublime' by Feitstuff and the paint splatter was from an element pack called 'Brush Strokes' by Cinzia L; recolored of course, both were purchased at the Oscraps shop.

Color Palettes for my first digi scrap kits

This is going to be another kit that I will put together sometime soon to scrap some of the awesome Summer photos that we'll be taking in the coming months, but first I want to get something finished for holiday coming this weekend.......

So this is the first color palette that I am thinking about using to make my first digi scrap kit, or at least a paper pack. I will start messing around and see what I can come up with to post here as a freebie. I think these colors here would be perfect to use to scrap those mother's day photos that you'll all be taking this weekend. So that's my plan, have at least a paper pack for you to scrap with.

What a weekend!!

Man I had such a blast this past weekend for International Scrapbook Day, I participated in many challenges and my first ever scavenger hunt, where I got some awesome freebies, and my first ever forum chat, which was hilarious, I LOVED it and will do it again soon. I love the ladies over at Oscraps. Not to mention the money I spent and SAVED shopping there at the O. Huge discounts and sales everywhere I looked!

The O wasn't the only happening place for iNSD weekend, I also shopped til I dropped at many stores I love. Including but not limited to Mscraps, Digital-Crea, Scrap Orchard, and the new Deviantscrap shop. OMG I got SO much this weekend.

Did I mention all the freebies I found from all my favorite designers blogs?!?!?!?! Man I'll have to show some of ALL the goodies I got this weekend.

Right now I want to share with you this Layout I did for the template challenge over at Mscraps. I used the kit 'Cassie' by Lauraskathi, purchased at the shop, I'll also post a preview of that kit, I got this kit in one of the grab bags I bought from the Mscraps shop.
