Speed scrap

So I joined my first ever speed scrap today for the blog party over on SuzyQscraps blog. It was fun and got me to put a page together really quick, but then again I have to usually because life as a stay at home mom with as many kids as we have is crazy and I don't have much time to spend scrapping anyway...I was thankful for the beautiful warm sunny day so the kids could play and I could join. There is another one tomorrow night at 9pm eastern time at the blogfrog community.

Nostalgia by Paislee Press & Creashens

So I picked up this collab project from Oscraps a couple weeks ago. It's by Paislee Press and Creashens and it's called Nostalgia. I had to have it because I fell in love instantly with the red and teal colors coupled with the black, pink and yellow, I think these colors together are fantabulous!! I had a page in my 'inspiration' file for a long time and I can't even remember who it's by but I lifted it to create this page of my beautiful daughters, Nikki and Alex. I wish I knew who the creator of the original LO was to give proper credit and tell them tank you for the inspiration and beautiful words I borrowed for my page.

I also used the free font from Miss Tina Fonts called Loli's handwriting. Thanks for looking!

Goings On these days...

Before I get started I wanted to tell you about the sneak peek over here http://suzyqscraps.com/blog/ at Suzy's blog, she's teamed up with another Scrap Orchard designer to bring us all her new drama filled, action packed kit, I can't wait to see what the whole thing looks like. My family and I are huge movie buffs, just this past weekend Shaun and I took Billy to see Toy Story 3 in 3D. It was the first 3D movie any of us has ever watched and it was completely awesome, a totally different experience than 2D films.

Father's day was a blast, the fam an I went to Twin Lake to swim, cook, eat, play volleyball and just have an overall great time. It was funny watching my father in law play volleyball too ;)

The girls spent some time with their dad and his family...enough said on that subject, (it's a sore subject for us), but they also got to spend a couple nights with their other brother over at his moms house, I know it's confusing but I'm glad they are close to their ex step mother and can still see her and her boys. I've missed them much and they are coming home today, I even said that their brother can spend the night so they are all excited about that!!

The house is clean and the laundry is caught up so I'm doing good on that end. Health wise not so good. My headaches are coming back (I''ve been a long time sufferer of migraines and cluster headaches), the meds I've been on stopped them for a while but now they are back and they are stronger than ever, so it's hard for me to sit on the computer and check my email let alone blog, scrap or try to design, which I really want to get better at, oh well hopefully I'll feel better soon and can get back to my h0bbies.

Now I have to plan on what we are doing for Billy's 5th birthday which is July 1st. I have no clue what to make him for dinner or even what to get him, he's at the age where he's into pretty much everything and it's hard to pin point exactly what he wants the most...he can't even decide what cake he wants for his bday...Spiderman? Iron Man? Toy Story? Cars? Too many to choose from,LOL.

That's about it for now though. As soon as I feel better I'll scrap some more and post some new pages and what not.

Thanks for looking!!

New blog challenge

So on June 9th the CT girls for LCC by Amy Stoffel posted a new blog challenge, my favorite kind..LO lift!
Let me tell you it was REALLY a challenge for me, as you can see from all my LO's, I scrap pictures and not much journaling at all. So I went out of my comfort zone and picked Amy's LO: love55 'what I've learned of love' here:

http://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/data/569/love55.jpg

and created my page (above).

Thanks for looking.

Ok so over here... http://suzyqscraps.com/blog/ there is a new template challenge using the above template created by one of her QT's, Susan. You can get the template for free and the image below is the page I created using the template. For my LO I used the following products all purchased from Scrap Orchard: Mamarazzi, a collab kit by Amanda Heimann and MMullens; Stitch hiccups1 by SQS; Life Lines1 (vellum word tag) by SQS; pebbleicious colors alpha by SQS; Journey 365 jombo kit (yellow bow & hearts) by SQS; and the leaves are from the kit 'Why I Scrap' by Amy Stoffel.

Something old, something new

Something old...the Shabby Princess kit 'Promise': it's at least 2 years old, just been sitting in my stash waiting to be scrapped with and I finally found a reason to use it...the something (or should I say someone) new...Kassiddy Raine: who is the newest daughter of my best friend Trish and her bf Mike. Kassiddy is also the baby sister of Izabelle and Durke whom I love very much and they are in my eyes my niece and nephew. I love you all and congrats to you Trish and Mike, you have some beautiful children and Kassiddy is no exception.

I also used two fonts from Miss Tina Fonts: queen of skethchyland & cutie patootie which are available for free here. http://misstiina.com/fonts/

PRAY for IZABELLE!!!

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY NIECE IZZY WHO IS BACK IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS WITH HER HEART AND NOW POSSIBLY HER LIVER.

A little over a year ago Izabelle was born with a hole in her heart and some other heart issues and though she's been in and out of the hospital with surgeries and other procedures she is not getting better she is getting worse.

Two days ago my friend Trish called and asked if I could take her son for a few days while they are in the pediatric ICU with Izzy who was vomiting blood and couldn't breathe on her own, Izzy now has a tube for breathing, a central line and has had at least 1 blood transfusion from the blood loss and the continuing blood she is losing.

The last update I got was a few hours ago and she isn't getting any better. The doctors are thinking that her liver is the problem now.

I am so scared but trying to keep positive for everyone involved and am and will continue to pray for Izzy's health recovery and for her family.

Trish and Mike I know this all so very difficult with the birth of your brand new daughter Kassiddy just a week ago tomorrow and now having to have Izzy back in the hospital...I feel so bad for you and I just want to cry with you and hold you and tell you that everything will be fine soon.

I can not be with you at the hospital as I am caring for your son who misses you all but is doing just fine here with us, especially William who LOVES having Durke here to play with. I will continue to care for Durke as long as you need me to.

Please try to keep positive and stay strong for each other and the rest of the family.

I love you, my family loves you and we will continue to pray for you.

In our hearts and prayers,
God Bless,

Kristi & Family

UPDATE (June 4th,2010): As of yesterday afternoon Izzy had another transfusion the other night, now she is still in PICU, still on the breathing ventilator, still heavily sedated and her spleen and liver are swollen, liver biopsy was taken and the full results will be in by next week Wed. so I'll keep you posted. Had a really high fever yesterday morning so they are trying to get that down. Right now Izzy's mom says she is stable but not 'out of the woods' yet, so PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR HER?!?!

UPDATE (June 9th,2010): I talked to Trisha the other day and Izzy is finally starting to get better!!! Her spleen and liver are still swollen but not causing any more problems than before and still are waiting for the full results, we do know that it's not psorosis of the liver which is what they were leaning towards, that's good news. The other good news is that they moved her from PICU to a regular room on the peds. floor. She is no longer on the breathing ventilator, she is however going through withdraws from the heavy sedatives she was on but that's being treated and she's getting better. There is NO more internal bleeding, still waiting to find the cause of that, the doctors are thinking maybe a problem with the blood flow between the liver and the esophagus...I'll keep you posted when I find out for sure. They are able to bottle feed her again instead of using the feeding tube and Trish can finally hold her baby girl which the doctors would not let her do while she was covered from head to toe in tubes and wires and especially with the breathing ventilator. So far all seems like it's getting better and hopefully our lil girl should be able to come home soon.

(UPDATE JUNE 18, 2010)
Izabelle is finally home from the hospital. All we know is that the liver is swollen (NO IDEA WHY) and because of that there is a problem with the blood flow between the liver and the esophagus which is what was causing ALL the bleeding.

Now they ran and continue to run a battery of tests to find the cause for the swollen liver but they let Trish take Izzy home so she can be comfortable and also be with her family, which Trish really needed because she has a 2 1/2 yr old son and a brand new baby girl who's not even a month old yet.

Izzy has heart surgery scheduled for next month to fix the whole in her heart and hopefully they'll know by then what's going on exactly with the liver so they can fix that as well.

But so far Izzy is home and I saw her yesterday and she is as smily and giggly as ever, you couldn't even tell she just spent a couple weeks in PICU. She is an amazing little girl. Very strong too.
